Description:
The Department of History/Political Science at Christian Brothers University, a Catholic university in the Lasallian tradition, in Memphis, Tennessee is seeking to fill an opening in U.S. History for academic year, 2009-2010. The Department is particularly interested in someone who can teach the U. S. survey courses and upper division history courses in U.S. (since Reconstruction), and in another field, preferably in Latin America, Women's History, or Ancient/Medieval History. This is a full-time, one-year appointment, renewable for up to three years with the possibility of becoming a tenure-track position. The salary will be in the upper-$30,000 range. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in hand and they should also have some teaching experience. The course load is 12 hours per semester, with some scholarly activity and service also expected.
