Mission Statement:
The Dean of Students is the University's chief judicial affairs officer. The office is also designed to accommodate the needs of international students, students with disabilities and to support commuter and minority students, as well as to assist the University in its goal of supporting diversity.
Responsibilities Of The Dean:
Judicial Affairs: The Dean Of Students serves as administrator of the judicial system by implementing an effective judicial program that concentrates on the holistic development of students, including coordination of the non-academic student disciplinary system, training members of the Disciplinary Hearing Committee, investigating complaints, advising filers of complaints and respondents of their rights and responsibilities, referring cases to formal hearings where necessary, and coordinating all details associated with formal hearings. International Students: The Dean Of Students provides advice to international students on a variety of immigration matters, employment, taxation, cultural adjustment, and other practical issues.
Students With Disabilities: The Dean Of Students assists students with documented disabilities on a variety of issues, including obtaining specific classroom accommodations.
The Dean Of Students also provides resources to assist
Minority Students
and
Commuter Students
with their specialized need, in addition to coordinating cultural programs on campus.
