The area of bioinformatics is relatively new, and it is growing all the time. It combines the data organization and manipulation of computer science applied to problems in biology and chemistry. You can approach it from the point of view of biology or chemistry and use the computer as a tool, or you can approach it from the point of view of computer science or mathematics and use the science as a source of data.
At CBU you can choose to major in biology or chemistry and choose some computer science courses to supplement your degree, or you can major in computer science or mathematics and choose the science option to give you a solid background in biology and chemistry.
