The course requires that you first find, then design, develop and implement a major project that solves a real problem in either business or engineering in the field of computer science. The project requires the presentation of oral and written reports. Prerequisite: CS 234 and senior standing. One semester; one credit. |

There is no required text, but you should refer to one in object oriented design. |
| Prerequisites |
You should be fluent in at least one language, such as C++ or Java, and should have basic skills in object oriented design and in the design and implementation of algorithms to solve problems. |
| Goals |
As goals of the course, you must find a business with a computer related problem, design a solution for the problem and then start to implement your design. |
| Topics |
Select project. (Mid September) Obtain approval for projext. (Mid September) Submit software specification. (Mid October) Submit draft for design. (Early November) Present project description to peers. (Mid November) Submit revised design. (Early December) Make a formal oral presentation on project with sponsor present. (Mid December) |
| Final Exam |
The final exam is a formal report about your project that requires the use of presentation software. The sponsor of your project or her representative must be present. |

You must attend class regularly. |
