Dr. Robert L. Drake is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Christian Brothers University(CBU). He feels honored to have received the first Ph.D. through the Department of Electrical Engineering at Mississippi State University and to have taught over 40 years at Tulane University, at the University of Tennessee, and at CBU.

He has over 10 years full-time experience in the chemical processing industry, the consulting engineering industry, and in the space industry. In the latter industry at the Space Technology Laboratories of Ramo-Woolridge he performed simulation and detailed system design of flight control systems for several space vehicles and missiles including Minuteman I and acted as project engineer for flight control at the first successful full-range silo launch of Minuteman at Atlantic Missile Range, Cape Canaveral, on August 22, 1961.

Dr. Drake teaches electronics, electric energy conversion, and control systems at CBU. He has published approximately 40 papers in journals and presentations at professional conferences. He has served as expert witness in over 40 court cases.

His current research interests are in applying control system theory to social-political-economic systems and in application of electronics and digital computers in controlof power devices such as electric motors and generators.
