Sports Management Concentration

Jump into one of the fastest growing industries in the world, sports entertainment and management. The Sports Management program at CBU prepares you for careers in a wide spectrum of organizations in the sport industry including:

• Professional sports from the NBA to NASCAR
• Collegiate athletics from junior colleges to NCAA Division I universities
• Corporate sport marketing, public relations, and sponsorship firms
• Recreation, community, and leisure industries
• Sport agencies
• Health and fitness industries

Within these industries, you will be given the tools to pursue a wide variety of positions including: athletic director, general manager, marketing director, sport agent, community center director, facility/operations manager, corporate sponsorship director, ticket manager, and public relations/communications director. An integral part of our program is the requirement of either a project or an internship.  We have already made contact with a number of local organizations and one national organization willing to assist us in this endeavor. Many of our classes will be taught by professionals in the field of sports.  For example, the Legal Aspects of Sports will be taught by a sports agent/attorney; the Sports Marketing class by an individual whois in charge of developing and operating the public relations sports program at a major corporation.
